Justin Dingwall

South Africa

Justin Dingwall is a South African photographer who creates images that resonate with emotion and challenge traditional notions of beauty. Dingwall seeks to inspire a public debate on the taboo subject of albinism, as albinos are frequently discriminated and subject to superstition and violence throughout Africa. In many parts of the continent, people attribute magical powers albinos, who are sometimes even killed for their much sought after body parts. Dingwall portrays albinism in a striking manner which is in sharp contrast with conventional notions of beauty.
